The first G-SHOCK “DW-5000” was released in 1983. And the first round “DW-5400” was released in 1985.

This DW-5750E is a model with an EL backlight in the shape of the 5700 and the 5700 series is now officially available in Japan.
The DW-5750E is still available online and relatively easy to obtain.
Square → Circle is Casio’s specialty from long ago
Casio specializes in releasing square modules with round bezels and similar models can be found in the Casio Collection (Cheap Casio).

The numbers enclosed in a square on the back cover of these two models are both “No.593”, so the module inside is the same.
In other words, only the bezel is made from a square to a circle. The round G-SHOCK uses a similar technique.
