- There are 3 types of main bands and the width is the same, so you can replace them.
- Metal bands cannot be used interchangeably
The same three main bands can be used for both the 5600 series and the 5610 series.
There are three main bands used in today’s square G-SHOCK.
- Urethane band
- composite band
- fine resin band
Both 5600 series and 5610 series are the same and can be used interchangeably.
(You can also use the carbon band used for GW-S5600U.)
It takes a little trick to replace it, but it should be possible if you have a “spring bar tool” .

Urethane band
The urethane band is the band used for DW-5600E and GW-M5610U.
It’s just a normal belt.
feature is,
- just light
- Commonly used, soft and familiar
That’s what it means.
The drawback is
- A little less durable due to ease of use
- Feels sticky to the skin when sweating

GW-M5610U-1 is a different color, and GW-M5610U-1C is the same urethane material band, but it has a slightly matte band without a pattern . This is cool too.
Composite band
Composite band is the band used for GW-M5610UBC.
It was such a shock when this band was released .
It is a band made with a technology called “metal core” which is made of metal on the inside and resin on the outside .
Advantages and features are
- Comfortable even when you sweat
- rugged design
The pattern is engraved, so it is hard to worry about scratches.
It’s a little heavier than a urethane band, but it’s a “metal core” rather than a full metal band, so it’s not a big deal .

Also, I don’t know how it happened, but this composite band is relatively easy to get by Japanese Site(Amazon.co.jp or Rakuten) I think that it is good to buy only the band and replace it.

Fine resin band
The fine resin band is the band used for GW-B5600BC.
There was a point that I was concerned about the composite band I mentioned earlier. “There is little sense of unity with the bezel” of the main body . (Though I like that rugged feeling!)
In that respect, there is a feeling of connection from the two round marks on this fine resin band bezel and there is a sense of unity.
Advantages and features are
- Lighter and more comfortable
That’s the point.
It is a band that can be said to be the ultimate for everyday G-SHOCK.
Of course, you can also use them interchangeably.

Unlike the fine resin band mentioned earlier, this band will not come up even if you search online.
The only way to get it is to purchase the above GW-B5600BC and replace it with your favorite G-SHOCK .

Other bands
The main bands are the three types above. But I will also briefly touch on the other bands used in square/square G-SHOCK.
Metal band
As with the bezel, the GMW-B5000D band belt cannot be attached.
(In the first place , the base is divided into three parts, so it cannot be physically installed.)
