I like “Square G-SHOCK” more than any other watch.
- New function / new design monotone G-SHOCK
- Adopted the third new band “Fine Resin Band”
New monotone “square G-SHOCK” equipped with Bluetooth cooperation
This is GW-B5600BC
I will Introduc this time is GW-B5600BC.
The list price is 28,600 yen in Japanese yen. It’s $ 200 in dollars.
The battery-powered DW-5600E was 12,100 yen / US $ 69.95.
The GW-M5610U with the addition of radio waves and tough solar was 22,000 yen / US $ 140.
The GW-B5600 with Bluetooth added is 23,100 yen / $ 179.
Furthermore, the GW-B5600BC with the addition of the composite band tri-fold band introduced this time is 28,600 yen / US $ 200.
It’s quite expensive.
Adopted a new band, fine resin band
I have introduced the GW-B5000 in another article.

This time is the variation, GW-B5000BC.
The model number of “BC” is equipped with a special band.
“BC” is included in the model number of GW-B5600BC .
I wonder some of you may remember this model number.
“BC” was also included in the model number of GW-M5610UBC .
Models with this “BC” in the model number mean “a special band is attached” .
In GW-M5610UBC, a wonderful band which called “Metalcore Band” was adopted.
This band was really excellent and cool. And it had the advantage of being irreversible to conventional urethane resin bands .
The GW-B5600 is a module developed to be a new standard.
Casio has prepared a new composite band (a band that combines metal and plastic) that opens up a new era for the “BC” of the GW-B5600 series .
It‘s name is “Fine Resin Band” .
Characteristic is,
- Compared to the metal core band, the feeling of metal is reduced. And the feeling of unity with the watch body is more expanded.
- A round pattern is adopted on the belt which designs “two circles” on the top and bottom of the bezel is continued.
- Lighter than a metalcore band
It has becomed.
This is exactly what Casio thinks of as the “most advanced G-SHOCK band . “
Fine resin band is great
Fine resin band(a new composite band) is more comfortable than ever
The metal core band of M5610BC is also comfortable (especially in the summer!)
The design was a little strange with the conventional G-SHOCK.
However, this fine resin band has a continuous design like extending the potches at the four corners of the 5600 series and it is familiar.
This is the metal core band of GW-M5610UBC.
Next, the fine resin band of this GW-B5600BC.
Can you see that the G-SHOCK icon “round dent” continues to the band, creating a sense of unity ?
Another advantage is that it is lighter than the metal core band .
GW-M5610UBC weighs 102g.
GW-B5600BC weighs 85g which is considerably lighter.
The comfort is the best!
Aiming for a new standard G-SHOCK
Three types of GW-B5600 series were produced at the time of release.
Only this GW-B5600BC is being sold continuously which has the monotone color.
The other two models of the GW-B5600 series (GW-B5600BC-1 and GW-B5600-2) are in stock only.
Is it a little too up-to-date design and to be popular?
The situation around here is also described in the article of GW-B5600.

The GW-B5600 series has also new colors every month. But there are not many models with this “fine resin band”.
Among them, GW-B5600HR-1 seems to be popular and is being sold continuously.
Here, it is cool that there is a red part on the back side of the band. And you can see the “red color” flickering.
It has a slightly 5600 series dial than the GW-B5600BC.

Which to buy, GW-M5610UBC?
A model equipped with a metal core band that has been renewed as “U” has appeared. And watches of both bands coexist.
Which one should you buy?
Reasons to choose GW-M5610UBC
- I want a character string that seems to be G-SHOCK
- I want the band to have a rugged metallic texture (metal core band)
- I want to get it as cheap as possible
Reasons to choose GW-B5600BC
- I want a Bluetooth link function
- I want a band that has a sense of unity with the bezel (fine resin band)
- A light watch is better
After all, appearance is the most important.
Is it the weight that leads to the comfort of wearing, isn’t it?
- GW-M5610UBC 102g is A little heavy.
- GW-B5000BC 85g Light!
It has becomed.
The afterglow time of the light is different
When I bought both and used them, I thought that it was different when I pressed the light button or turned on the screen light with the auto light . The afterglow time can be selected from two types.
- GW-M5610UBC Afterglow time switching (1.5 seconds / 3 seconds)
- GW-B5000BC Afterglow time switching (2 seconds / 4 seconds)
Since the GW-M5610 was the first model to have a tough solar, I was worried about whether the battery would last for a long time. So the afterglow time was set short .
(This has been improved by allowing you to select the afterglow time when it is updated as “U” and becomes GW-M5610U.)
The “1.5 seconds” setting is left as a remnant of that.
If you really want 4 seconds, you should buy GW-B5600.
The inverted LCD may be a little hard to see
The inversion liquid crystal is not so good. But it is much harder to see than the inversion liquid crystal of GMW-B5000 which adopted the TFT liquid crystal.
When thre were only GW-M5610BC, the difficulty of only the inverted LCD was cool.
The full metal G-SHOCK GWM-B5000 is a TFT LCD which is easy to see even with an inverted LCD makes it difficult to see.
I want you to judge this area by looking at the real thing.
summary
A simple, monotone bezel, a light and comfortable belt.
Inverted LCDs are difficult to see, however they also have the advantage of being simple and unobtrusive.
This square G-SHOCK is also recommended.
